Dichiarazione congiunta

Joint Declaration
of the Trade Union Majority
to the Staff of the JRC of ISPRA and SEVILLE

Dear Colleagues of the JRC of Ispra and Seville,

In the frame of the current development the undersigned trade unions join their forces to defend the interests of all staff in Ispra and Seville.

This decision marks our aim for unity to face the dangerous reform of the Staff Regulations, as prepared by the Commission and bending to the will of the Council and the Member States.

This joining of the forces, harmonised with the trade union majority of the Central Staff Committee, will reinforce our coordination and action capacity together with our colleagues of the same trade unions in Brussels.

Electoral rules for the local staff comittee

4 oct 2011

Dear colleagues, Yesterday was a historical day for the future of the Ispra site. The Local Staff Committee (CLP) is delighted to announce that finally we will have the same electoral rules as in Brussels. This includes a proportional voting system and electronic voting as in Brussels. Yesterday, at the General Assembly for the presentation of the CLP activities it was decided unanimously to adopt these new electoral rules.

This is a very strong signal that Ispra staff is really in favour of our policy to make the Ispra site function as Brussels and Luxemburg.

Later this afternoon we also had a meeting with our Director General Mr. Ristori. The CLP is very pleased that the position we took 2 years ago (when the previous Dir. Gen. presented the thematic area approach, eliminating several scientific areas without even taking into consideration the possibility to improve our administrative processes first), has now been fully recognised by the new Senior Management.

The now announced harmonisation of the administrative processes will make it possible to reinforce our core tasks without moving any staff member to a different site against her/his will. This increase of efficiency is very important especially taking into consideration the proposed 5% reduction of the staff table foreseen for the whole Commission by the new reform proposal.

We are really convinced that today Staff and the Senior Management took the right decisions to defend our jobs and to consolidate the future of the JRC within the European Commission!

Thank you all, Your outgoing Local Staff Committee (CLP)
